What To Watch For During a Test Drive
All vehicle shoppers, whether they are shopping for new or used, even the vehicle of their dreams, should first take it for a test drive before signing on the dotted line. Some things are obvious to watch for during a test drive, but other things in your current vehicle you have grown accustom to and don’t even realize it could be different (whether that may be for better or for worse) in a new vehicle.
1. Comfy?
A new vehicle shouldn’t be like of pair of heels. No matter how good it may look, comfort isn’t something that should be compromised. If you’re uncomfortable during the test drive, adjust the seat and steering wheel to a position that fits you. A test drive is a lot shorter than driving a vehicle you aren’t comfortable in every day for miles upon years to come.
2. Passengers
How many passengers do you realistically plan on driving on an average basis? Will there be a carseat in the back sometime in the near future, or do you have some teenagers that have recently gone through a growth spurt and are towering above 6 foot? Unless you typically will be the only person in your vehicle, check out the space and comfort of all the seat positions. Don’t be shy when it comes to bringing the whole family along.
3. How Tech-Savvy Are You?
Newer models generally feature Bluetooth connectivity and a touch screen system centered within the dash. Are you able to sync your current phone with the system, and is it easy-to-use? This is your time for hands-on experience with what could potentially be your future vehicle.
4. Can You See?
While you’re driving the vehicle, pay attention when changing lanes or parking it. It’s natural for a vehicle to have blind spots, but if they are too large and block your view, this is a serious hazard.
5. Ask Questions
This is your turn to grill us with any questions that you might have. Ask about features, options, anything at all. At Briggs Super Center, our sales team members are entirely honest, upfront, and want to make sure that this is vehicle you are going to be happy in for years to come
