Vehicle Interior Cleaning Tips

Just in time for spring cleaning, we know that your vehicle takes a beating. It serves as a kitchen where you’re eating on the go, a living room where kids are playing games in the backseat, and a bedroom as your front seat passenger is dozing off and drooling on the side of the window. New or used vehicle, on you plan on keeping for years to come or selling in the new future, no matter what the case may be, we would like to give you a few vehicle interior cleaning tips.

1. Cleaning the Carpeting- First things first, vacuum up all of the dirt, crumbs, pet hair, crumbled up leaves and whatnot. Then address any stains with a stain lifter that can be found in the auto section of a convenience or super store.

Be careful not to soak the carpeting with too much water and cleaner, when it starts to puddle and really seep in, this is when mold and mildew starts to set in.

3. Caring for Leather- Maybe you don’t have leather seats, but the steering wheel or trim on your vehicle is leather. This will require special cleaners and conditioners to make sure the leather doesn’t become worn, crack, or become damaged. Leather is pretty dependable, but a little protection goes a long way, especial for future resale purposes.

4. Window cleaner- Generic window cleaner will work just fine for the interior and exterior of your windows, but it also can be used for the plastic parts of your vehicle, like the dash. Just be sure to a use a clean dry cloth to wipe away dirt and dust that has collected.

5. Upholstery-There are plenty of upholstery cleaners available in the stores. When applying, spray it on evenly across the stains or smudges, and then really use some muscle when scrubbing the spot with a clean cloth. Just tackle one spot at a time.

Hopefully your vehicle will be fresher and cleaner than ever before, well, at least since the day you bought it. For more tips, tricks, and advice.
